The Caz Bantam House team completed its inaugural season in the WNY Independent League, concluding the regular season as the second seed. Advancing through the playoffs, the team secured a spot in the Championship Game with an impressive 6-2 victory over Amherst.
In the title match, the Chiefs faced off against the Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles at Niagara University but fell short with a 6-1 score.
This marked the first year for this team proudly wearing the Caz jersey. The Board extends congratulations to these young men for a highly successful debut season. Anticipation is high to witness what Coach Kevin Hassett and the team have in store for the upcoming year.
The Caz Girls 10u team made an impressive debut in their inaugural league playoffs, ultimately securing a second-place finish. The journey began with a resounding 5-3 triumph over Amherst, earning them a well-deserved spot in the Championship Game. Goal scorers Harper Riehle, Vivian Masocco (2G), and Margaret Lafferty (2G) led the team's charge, demonstrating skill and determination. The Chiefs countered everything thrown at them by the Lady Knights, ensuring their victory.
In the Championship clash, the Chiefs faced off against Niagara, but unfortunately, the Purple Eagles proved too difficult, resulting in a 3-0 defeat for the Caz Girls. Despite valiant efforts to keep it a one-goal game for more than half of the game, the team eventually ran out of steam.
Finishing the regular season with a 4-2-2 record, the Girls finished the third overall standings. A sincere congratulations to all the players, coaches, and parents for their collective efforts in contributing to a memorable and successful season!
